The Raphael Lemkin Society’s project, “Protecting Cultural Identity: Legal Protection and Capacity Building for War-Affected Institutions,” has been selected as one of the winners of a competition organized by the International Renaissance Foundation in Ukraine.
The competition, “Protecting the Interests of Those Affected by the War, Documenting Wartime Events and Crimes, and Preserving Memory,” is aimed at strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations, supporting war-affected communities, documenting war crimes, and preserving the memory of the war.
A total of 52 project proposals were submitted, 11 of which were selected for support.
As part of the project, the Society will work to provide legal protection for cultural identity and strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian cultural institutions affected by Russia’s aggression.
